My name is Deborah, my passion is art. I have always “dabbled” in art. Whether it was projects set up and instructed by my mother when I was a child or art classes in school, I loved the process and (not quite as frequently) the results. I always thought myself to be moderately creative, but stuck in “the box,” I am now definitely outside the box, and I see it as my mission in life to help others step out, or at least become comfortable with coloring a bit outside the lines.
When I stopped my career as an engineer, I gave myself permission to focus on art. What I gained was a newfound creativity that keeps growing, allowing me to problem-solve in other facets of my life as well. I also gained a natural anti-depressant and stress reliever. Through the losses and stresses of life and running a start-up business, I have found that I am calmer and more optimistic than I had ever been in the past. This may be why people have told me that I “glow,” and give off a “positive vibe.”
When I do get stressed I take some time out to create, and it restores my equilibrium. Try it. There’s nothing to be lost and a whole new world to be gained.
